I had an opportunity to interview Brad Nam, the editor of Indy Korea. He is familiar with the Korean community around Indiana. Here are a few organized comments from the interview with him: According to the United States Census Bureau (2015), there are about 27,000 Koreans living in the state of Indiana. This statistic indicates that the Korean population in Indiana is growing constantly. One of the main reasons that more Koreans are moving into Indiana is that Indianapolis and surrounding cities such as Fishers, Carmel, Noblesville, and Zionsville are the top fastest growing cities with great living environments.

More and more Korean immigrants and Koreans from other states are moving to Indiana because they are looking for a place with low crime rates, good schools, and excellent business opportunities. In addition, several thousand Korean students cannot be ignored because many of them are from wealthy families, who always spend considerable amounts of money each year. Also, many college graduates find jobs near where they graduated.

The Indy Korea was started last year. However, the Indy Korea has been loved by Korean people living in Indiana despite its short history. Here are some reasons he thinks: IndyKorea, the magazine, provides high quality contents that readers can benefit. Indy Korea are not advertisement oriented. We have tried to let Korean people know Korean’s news or useful information. It has led to vigorous communicating among Koreans.
